From the artist: Where I live in Lidsdale, bird life and love surrounds me. Every afternoon I’m visited by Sherlock, the King Parrot aptly named by his favourite perch, our Sherlock wheelbarrow. Sherlock has been a constant but wild companion, visiting on good days and giving comfort on the tough ones. From visiting us post bushfire recovery, to attending my baby shower only to eat the seeds from the sunflowers I planted for my daughter that bloomed when I brought her home. A bird’s trust is precious, their curiosity and love is both a comfort and privilege.
