"The Purple in the Tree" Is based on what I saw from my backyard at my old house in Blacktown. In the book "Dark Emu" by Bruce Pasco. I learnt that in Aboriginal culture, we look to the sky and see the space in between the stars. Whereas in European culture, they would look to the sky and see the stars.
