Gungalang means Frog in the traditional language of the Wiradjuri people of Australia.
Size: 18cm wide x 18cm high
There is a well known Aboriginal Dreamtime story about Tiddalik the largest Gungalang (frog) in the world. He wakes up one morning with an unquenchable thirst. He drank and he drank and he kept drinking until all the fresh water in the entire billabong was gone!
To get their water back, the animals from the billabong try and make Tiddalik laugh. They eventually succeed and he vomits the water back into the billabong from laughing too hard. The story of Tiddalik reminds us not to be greedy and remember to think of the needs of others.
Proudly 100% Australian designed and made.
DESIGNER RUST
These "Rust-Chic" figures will add some unique character to your day and your garden. Made from 3mm exterior commercial grade Corten steel (used to clad buildings), these guys are designed to live outdoors. Create your own Rust-chic family, add a fur baby or even your favourite native animal.
Corten steel is designed to patina and rust. Your character will change as the steel weathers over time. The steel begins as a dark grey colour. As it reacts with the air, moisture and the elements over time, the rust colour will increase and become more unique each day.
Really rusty. Really Aussie.
INSTALLATION
Install your character where the ground is soft to allow your piece to be easily pushed into the earth. Gently push the spikes into the ground using your hands. No tools are required. We do not recommend the use of hammers or mallets to avoid damage to your item.
